This problem is caused by the corruption of the Outlook Express - Inbox file. To remedy this it is necessary to follow the following steps:
- Right-click on "Local Folders"
- Select "New Folder" and specify the name of a new folder (eg Temp)
- If you can access the emails in the Inbox, move them to the Temp folder
- Go to "Tools" -> "Options" -> "Maintenance" tab -> "Store Folder" and note the path to the Inbox file
- Close Outlook Express and delete the "inbox.dbx" file from the above location
- Start Outlook Express again. The Inbox folder will be automatically re-created.
- Move emails from Temp to Inbox
- Delete the Temp folder
It is recommended to make a backup of the folder in which the emails are stored.
