- Open Mail and access "Add Account", then "Add Other Mail Account"
- Fill in your name, email address and email account password
- Choose the type of email account (IMAP / POP) and fill in the rest of the fields
- If you have chosen IMAP, make sure you added the correct port - 993 for SSL and 143 for non SSL, and the authentication is "Password"
- Fill in the same information for "Outgoing Mail Server Info"
- Complete the creation of the email account
- Go to Preferences >> Accounts
- Select the newly created email account >> Advanced and uncheck "Automatically detect and maintain account settings"
- Go to "Account Information" and select "Edit SMTP Server List". Click on "Advanced" and verify that:
1. "Automatically detect and maintain account settings" is unchecked
2. Enter the SMTP port (25/26 or 465 for SSL)
3. Select "Password" as the authentication method and check "Allow insecure authentication"
