You can create a phpinfo() web page that will simplify accessing your server’s current PHP information. When visited, the phpinfo() webpage will offer information about the current state of PHP on the server.
phpinfo() function provides information like path, user, operating system, modules, hostname, log_errors etc.
phpinfo.php file is a php script that can be created and stored anywhere on your dedicated server.
To create the .php file with the phpinfo() command, create a new text file with the .php extension and enter the following line of code. Save the file as phpinfo.php
<? phpinfo(); ?>
Upload the file created on the web server to the location you want to test. This is usually in the public_html folder (but can be saved elsewhere). Use an FTP client to upload the file.
To visit the page in your browser, enter the URL where the file is located. In this tutorial we have added the file to the public_html directory. In this situation the URL should look like this:
http://www.yourdomain.com/phpinfo.php
Replace the domain name in the example above with the real name of your domain.
