Google Analytics provides detailed statistics about visitor traffic to your site. To use Google Analytics with PrestaShop (or any other type of site), you must first sign up for a Google Analytics account at http://www.google.com/analytics and get a unique tracking ID. Once you've set up a Google Analytics account and have the tracking code for your site, you can set it up in PrestaShop.
The fastest and easiest way to do this is to install the Google Analytics module available from PrestaShop. PrestaShop offers a module created especially for Google Analytics.
All you have to do is specify the tracking ID, and the module takes care of the rest.
To install and activate the Google Analytics module for PrestaShop, follow these steps:
- Open a browser and access the link http://addons.prestashop.com/en/analytics-stats-prestashop-modules/4168-ganalytics.html, then download the module to your computer
- Log in to the PrestasShop administration panel with the administration data
- In the left hand menu, click MODULES
- Click on Add a new module
- Click Browse, select the .zip file downloaded in step 1 then click on Upload this module
- In the MODULES LIST section, locate Google Analytics, then click Install. After installation PrestaShop will display the configuration page for this module
In SETTINGS, in the Google Analytics Tracking ID box, enter the Google Analytics tracking ID - Click Save. PrestaShop enabled Google Analytics.
