If you are running Windows 2000/XP operating system on your workstation, please follow these steps:

  1. Start
  2. Run
  3. cmd and enter
  4. telnet mail.yourdomain.ro 25

If the returned message contains "Could not open connection to the host on port 25: Connect failed", then your access to port 25 (SMTP) is blocked (at the station, network or ISP level). Contact your administrator to remedy the situation.

The same is done for port 110 (POP), replacing 25 with 110 in the list of commands above.

In Windows Vista/Windows 7:

  1. Start
  2. Accessories
  3. Command prompt
  4. telnet mail.yourdomain.ro 25
