Drupal is a popular CMS software application that can be used for different types of sites. It can manage a large number of users provided that the minimum criteria are met:

  1. Regularly optimize the database using the DB Maintanance module or directly from PHPMyAdmin
  2. Activate the caching system. This will significantly reduce the impact of Drupal on the server it is installed on.
  3. In the administration section Drupal >> Site Configuration >> Performance enable Page compression, Optimize CSS files and Optimize JavaScript files
  4. If you have a VPS or dedicated server try to optimize MySQL server operating parameters
  5. Remove unused / unnecessary modules
