On the Linux platform (Apache or LiteSpeed web servers) you can use a .htaccess file to restrict access to the folder where the .htaccess file is located. The contents of the .htaccess file must be the following:

order deny,allow
deny from all
allow from 888.888.888.888

Replace 888.888.888.888 with the IP from which you want to access the folder. Any other IPs will have access blocked.
